We believe…
…there is one God who exists in three persons (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). Jesus Christ is the second member of the Trinity (the Son of God) who became flesh to show us what God is like and to become the Saviour of all people.
…people were created in the image of God to have fellowship with Him, but that relationship was broken through sinful disobedience. As a result, man is unable to restore that right relationship with God by his own work.
…the work of Jesus Christ on the cross provides the only basis for the forgiveness of sins. So, salvation is only possible when a person places his faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as the once and for all payment for his sin.
…power over sin is available for every follower of Christ. By obeying the Word of God (the Bible) and daily following the Spirit’s leading, every believer will mature and become more and more like Christ in character.
…Jesus Christ is the Head of the church. The church is His body. Members of the body are those who have placed their faith in what Christ did on the cross. The purpose of the church is to glorify God by loving Him and by making Him known to a lost world.
…the sacraments that Christ and His apostles ordained to be observed by His church are water baptism and the Lord’s Supper (Holy Communion). At Trenton Wesleyan this is open to all followers of Christ, regardless of church membership.
